Japan Airlines JL735 Tokyo Narita – Hong Kong
Aircraft: Boeing 767-346 Miles: 1,823 Duration: 4hrs10mins
Neih Hou Ma from Hong Kong!
After a great flight on JAL, where we were fortunate enough to sample their excellent Executive Class product, we have landed in Hong Kong.
Our Boeing 767 today featured JAL’s Sky Luxe Seat in a 2x2x2 layout, offering spacious, comfortable seats with all the usual business class amenities including personal televisions, great recline, leg room, pillows, blankets and top levels of service.
Our menu for the four-hour flight was a dinner service, and included a choice of Western or Japanese menus, both of which looked delicious. On offer were an amazing array of appetisers followed by tuna, beef or seafood pasta.
The service was impeccable from start to finish.
The Magic III in-flight entertainment system helped to pass the time with a choice of movies, games and audio programming covering everything from the latest pop tunes to traditional Rakugo-style Japanese comic monologues!
The lavatories were as immaculate at the conclusion of the flight as there were at the start, which was impressive and most welcome.
We made a rapid arrival through immigration, and have checked into Marriott’s Sky City Hotel, located just by the Hong Kong International Airport. It couldn’t be more convenient to stay here, as it is close to the airport, and also right across from the Asia World Expo Convention Centre. The hotel has 12 floors and contains 625 rooms (33 of which are suites). There are 12 meeting rooms that all have wifi, as do the public areas. Guest rooms have wired internet access. The hotel also has a concierge level for top customers. There is a free shuttle service to and from Hong Kong International Airport (you can pick it up at B05 in the airport arrivals hall), or guests can hop on the Airport Express train, alighting at the Asia World-Expo Station.
We have a had a very pleasant welcome from the hotel general manager, with an amazing airplane confection made from chocolate awaiting our arrival – thanks Mr. Tse and team! Given that we have been on the move covering 8,841 miles since yesterday morning, we are really looking forward to a few hours in the comfort of a Marriott bed. Night, all!
