Selemat Petang from Kuala Lumpur!

We’ve arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, which always seems to be a relatively tranquil oasis in the world of international travel. We flew in above lush tropical foliage, and palm plantations to land at the edge of one of Asia’s most amazing cities. We lucked out with great vistas of the fabulous Petronas Towers, at one point recently the tallest buildings in the world.

Cathay Pacific, as always, was impressive. Their customer service, attention to detail and warm welcome were impeccable. We were offered seats in CX’s latest herringbone-layout business class cabin, where a brunch ervice was offered. The menu today included:

Fresh fruit, pastries, cereals and yoghurt, followed by
a choice of tomato quiche, traditional dim sum or chicken rice with vegetables.

The service was impeccable from start to finish. Our names were used throughout the flight, and upon disembarkation, the purser bade us all farewell by name, from memory. What a nice (and impressive) touch! Thanks, Cathay Pacific for a wonderful experience!

We now have a four-hour layover here in Kuala Lumpur, so we’re off to explore the delights of oneworld-elect member Malaysia Airline’s Golden Lounge, and learn more about Malaysia’s aircraft, products and services, especially their new A380 aircraft that are now regularly serving London and Tokyo.  Don’t hit your remotes just yet – there is plenty more to come!
